Two rugs can look alike and need completely different handling. The fibre, the construction, the dyes and the condition decide how — and sometimes whether — a rug should be wet cleaned.

Not every rug can safely be wet cleaned. Delicate, hand-made or unstable-dye rugs need a different method, and a few are genuinely better off at a specialist rug plant. If that's your rug, we'll tell you rather than take the job.

Most of this improves a lot with a proper clean. Permanent staining, lost dye and worn fibre are a different story, and we'll say so before we start rather than after.
How We Clean It
Step 1
Fibre and Dye Check
We work out the fibre, the construction and whether the dyes are stable, and note any damage that's already there.
Step 2
Dry Soil Removal
Loose grit comes out first, before any moisture goes anywhere near it.
Step 3
The Right Method
The rug is cleaned with the method and products that suit its fibre and condition.
Step 4
Rinse, Extract, Dry
Where it's appropriate the rug is rinsed and extracted, then set up to dry properly.
Dye bleeding, existing damage, wear and old repairs are all noted and pointed out to you before we start.
